The interactive interface is entirely open to the public via the official DESI Legacy Imaging Viewer portal. Visitors can seamlessly zoom, pan, and query specific cosmic coordinates. What was once exclusive laboratory data has been transformed into an accessible tool for everyone: citizen scientists and astronomy hobbyists alike. Arjun Dey, co-lead of the Legacy Surveys and an astronomer at NSF NOIRLab, says: “For our team, these data are fundamental to the investigation of the expansion history of the Universe and the formation of our galaxy. But the skies belong to everyone, and this survey gives everyone the chance to marvel at their wonders.”
